Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

There were wet surface snow conditions at the 7000' elevation on NW N NE E aspects in the Donner Pass area today.   At 2:00 pm on the exposed E SE aspects the surface crust was 4" thick soft but supportable.  In the shaded N NW aspects the crust was 1" thick soft and unsupportable.  Boot penetration ranged from 1" to knee deep.   We saw old debris from multiple avalanches, above China Wall, N face of Donner Peak, Poop Chute and Goldilocks Wall.  Winds were light from SW and we observed no new signs of instabilities.   We did 6 compression tests all were CTN.
