More detailed information about the snowpack:

Very good overnight refreeze in this area with supportable conditions on the N-NE-E-SE aspects traveled between 7,360' and 9,840' lasting through departure from the area at 12:45 pm. At mid day snow surface conditions on E-SE aspects consisted of 1 to 2 inches of corn snow on top of supportable melt-freeze crust. N-NE aspects had very little to no surface melt above 8,500' at mid day. Below 8,500' at mid day on N-NE aspects, some areas remained frozen while other areas held up to 1 inch of wet surface snow. No signs of loose wet instability were observed during the morning hours. Melt rates were such that loose wet instability was likely to become possible during the mid to late afternoon hours.
