Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Snow coverage was thin below 8000' with a supportable snowpack above 8400'.  Minor wind scouring occurred from the recent NE wind event limited to the top hundred feet from the summit.  Informal observations and snowpack tests showed no signs of instabilities.  No avalanche activity observed in Desolation Wilderness from the recent storm event.
