Variable surface snow exits in the Castle Valley. Soft wind loaded pockets, firm wind packed areas, and wind scoured surfaces on east aspects near treeline. Wind slabs exist on west aspects near treeline ranging from 15-35 cm thick.  Snow coverage is very thin below 7600 ft.
