Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Pic 1: Near surface facets and surface hoar were observed throughout the Trimmer area on all but the sunniest slopes or those most protected from radiation loss. Treed slopes with wide enough spacing for easy descending had both SH and NSF. Picture from a shovel tilt test consistent with other informal obs in the area, with surface layer above fracture observed to be small angular grains.

Pic 2: Surface hoar surviving into mid-day on an indirect sunny aspect that also had a thin melt freeze crust under the SH.

Pic 3: Continued signs of settlement of last week's storm snow.

HS of 125cm observed on Trimmer Bonus Face, with little indication of old snow present. "One-storm-snowpack" on this terrain feature, though it was supportable to skis and had good enough coverage for descending. HS of 250cm observed adjacent to Trimmer 11's start zones. No facets observed above Jan 9th rain crust, which was 125cm from surface at 8800ft on N aspect.
