Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

At the trail head the average height of snow was 235cm.  Temperatures were above freezing and winds were calm.  The snow surface was wet in sun exposed areas and snow was melting and falling from the trees.  10mm surface hoar was observed in isolated pockets in the lower elevations.   In near treeline terrain on easterly aspects the snow surface was wet with colder unconsolidated snow below.  Near the summit the south portion of the ridge was scoured with varied surface conditions.  True north aspects still had cold unconsolidated snow.
