More detailed information about the snowpack:

Cold and brisk winter conditions today on Tamarack Peak.  There were some sun breaks in the mid morning but that turned to mostly cloudy for the rest of the day with moderate to strong W winds.  Overnight storm snow amounts were 3-5'' on high density snow with wind deposited areas up to 1'.  Moderate amounts of blowing snow was visible off of ridges and peaks.  Reactive wind slabs were found off of ridges on NW-N-NE-E aspects on small test slopes that were up to 1' deep.  On slightly larger terrain, ski cuts did not produce more results than cracking in wind loaded terrain.  With mostly full cloud cover, cold temps, and winds, E-S aspects were still holding unconsolidated snow into the early afternoon.  No avalanche activity was observed today.
