More detailed information about the snowpack: 

4-8 inches new snow fell on top of a thick, hard layer of crust. The new snow was wet and heavy. New snow term: meat loaf on crust. On a 35 degree southeast-facing slope a skiier pushed the entire new snow layer off of the crust when making turns.
