Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

This mornings observations on avalanche control showed that the new "heavy snow" was failing at the interface of old/new snow layer. While CT tests were mostly NR the ability to produce skier/rider triggered avalanches was common on all aspects from 30-50+ degree slopes. The results were also comfirmed by ski cutting tests outside of the ski area in the Horse Canyon & King's Realm areas. In some cases these avalanches were running 200+ feet approx. 6"-10" depending on aspect, terrain and wind loading. Nonatural avalanche activity was observed although this could become an issue with the days temps on the rise. N-NE-E cornice formation was also observed that produced blocks from small to compact car size!
