Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Mostly bare ground with isolated thin patches of snow below 7,600' in this area. Above 7,600' the snowpack becomes continuous and gains depth quickly with increasing elevation. Supportable crust conditions existed in all areas and on all NW-N-NE-E aspects traveled up to 9,100'. The middle and upper portions of the snowpack remain moist to wet and are continuing to refreeze following the recent rain events. The snowpack appears very stable in this area.

Photo: Rain runnels at 8,900', north aspect on Rubicon.
