More detailed information about the snowpack:

A weak overnight snow surface refreeze occurred in this area last night. At 9:15 am, snow surface conditions at 8,700' were skier supportable but not boot supportable in open areas away from previous compaction (photo). Surface melt-freeze crust was 3 cm thick, 1F hard. Deep wet snow below. Conditions remained skier supportable on S aspects between 8,700' and 9,100' upon departing the area at 11 am, but were unlikely to last much longer.
